Target recalls roughly 204,000 weighted blankets after federal regulators say two children became entrapped and died of asphyxiation in April. ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌

Its almost here! It's Charisse Jones with the Daily Money headlines to carry you through the holiday weekend.

Target is recalling roughly 204,000 weighted blankets after federal regulators say two children became entrapped by the coverings and died of asphyxiation in the spring.

The Pillowfort weighted blankets are being pulled because children can unzip them and potentially become trapped inside, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, which says two girls, 4 and 6 years old, were asphyxiated in April.

Target has also gotten two reports of children becoming entrapped, federal officials say.

Samsung is also doing a product recall, pulling roughly 664,000 top-loading washing machines because they may short circuit, overheat and cause a fire.

The 14 washing machine models are equipped with super speed wash and were sold between June 2021 and December 2022 by several store chains including Home Depot and Costco. The recalled appliances include model series WA49B, WA50B, WA51A, WA52A, WA54A and WA55A.

House to vote on retirement savings changes

Changes that could help Americans stash away more for retirement are a step closer to becoming a reality. The Senate has approved a $1.7 trillion spending package that includes the new savings options, and the House was expected to vote on and pass the bill Friday.

The legislation would enable employers to factor in employees' student loan payments when matching their retirement plan contributions. It would also raise the age when withdrawals from tax-deferred retirement accounts become mandatory.
