Happy Thursday, Talking Tech readers. It's Brett Molina back with some more tech headlines.

It's no secret tech has been at the forefront of any discussions around layoffs. Amazon, Meta and others have laid off thousands of workers over the past year because of fears of a potential economic recession.

Add another company to the list: Lyft. The ride-hailing company said it plans to significantly reduce its workforce as part of a broader restructuring.

The layoffs will reportedly affect at least 1,200 jobs, although Lyft would not confirm exactly how many employees will be laid off. As of Dec. 31, Lyft had more than 4,400 employees.

In November, Lyft cut 13% of its staff.
