⚖ Donald Trump is the first former president convicted of a crime in U.S. history, but it won't stop him from running for president again. His conviction on Thursday does not bar him from seeking a return to the Oval Office in the meantime, even if his possible sentence makes that more difficult. And even if he does receive a jail time sentence in July, he will probably push it off until an appeal is resolved.

Homeless facing near-record summer heat

🌑️☀️Javier Velez has been homeless ever since Hurricane Ian blew the roof off his Fort Myers, Florida, home and filled it with more than 4 feet of water in 2022. He's now in New Jersey, living in his truck. "I'm probably just going to park under trees and keep the doors open to stay cool," Velez, 60, said. Forecasters warn  hotter than average temperatures this summer will take a heavy toll on unhoused populations.
