Travelers across the country on Monday are still grappling with the fallout from a global IT outage that forced unexpected chaos on a midsummer travel weekend. Air travel saw over 1,000 flights canceled and more than 2,300 delays Sunday after IT issues nearly grounded flights to a halt on Friday. The cybersecurity firm Crowdstrike blamed the global tech outage on a defect in an update for Microsoft Windows hosts.
