👋 Howdy! Rebecca Morin here, filling in for Phaedra Trethan this week! Do some Reese’s products taste a little, um, different to you?

In Monday's news:

The crew of Artemis II just made a record-breaking milestone for humanity. 🚀
President Donald Trump threatened to take Iran out in “one night” if a deal isn’t made.
Savannah Guthrie returned to “Today” after her mother went missing two months ago.

But first: A different Easter egg surprise! 🐣 An egg from famous eagle parents Jackie and Shadow officially hatched on Easter Sunday.

Fly me (around) the moon

What’s the farthest humanity has been from Earth? 252,752 miles. That record-breaking milestone was made today by the four astronauts of Artemis II, surpassing Apollo 13 in 1972.

On the crew’s agenda: A roughly seven-hour-long lunar observation period is currently underway. The astronauts studied two massive craters and also named them – “Integrity” and “Carroll,” after Commander Reid Wiseman’s late wife.

‘Let’s do the news’

Savannah Guthrie returned “home” to her “Today” family. It’s been two months since her mother, Nancy Guthrie, went missing and she still hasn’t been found. Still, Savannah Guthrie said it was time to go back to her job on the long-running morning show. Even as all eyes were on the anchor, the news was not about her.

Yellow ribbons, signs galore and lots of hugs welcomed Savannah Guthrie back to “Today.”

Are travel loyalty programs still worth it? Many say no.
