Happy hump day, readers. The results of the New Hampshire primary are in, and while Sen. Bernie Sanders narrowly took the race, everyone is talking about Sen. Amy Klobuchar's surprising third-place finish and building momentum. They're even giving it a nickname – Klomentum.

Election 2020: Democratic field unsettled after New Hampshire primary

Democratic presidential hopefuls will hit the campaign trail Wednesday following a tight finish in New Hampshire's first-in-the-nation primary . Late Tuesday, Sen. Bernie Sanders edged former South Bend, Indiana, Mayor Pete Buttigieg in a closer-than-expected finish. Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar came in a surprising third, a finish that built on her well-received debate performance last week. While the result could keep the race for the Democratic nominee more unsettled, it also raised further questions whether Sen. Elizabeth Warren and former Vice President Joe Biden, who ended up fourth and fifth respectively, can survive until the Super Tuesday contests just weeks away.

Is coronavirus loaded with potential to disrupt the economy?

Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell plans to tell Congress on Wednesday that Fed officials are "closely monitoring" the coronavirus for disruptions "that could spill over to the rest of the global economy." In prepared testimony he plans to deliver before the House Financial Services Committee, Powell also will say Fed officials aim to hold interest rates steady barring a "material" change in their outlook. Coronavirus cases have surged to nearly 41,000 worldwide and the death toll has surpassed 1,000, mostly in China. Moody's Analytics expects the virus to shave nearly half a percentage point off U.S. economic growth in the first quarter. Even so, economists predict solid growth of just under 2% for all of 2020.

Heavy rain swamps South, and more is on the way

Another wet day is forecast Wednesday across the South after heavy downpours led to flooded roads and rising rivers across the Deep South. The next round of heavy rain will fall across the Lower Mississippi and Tennessee valleys. Additional rainfall of 1 to 3 inches will be possible from northeast Texas to western Tennessee, the National Weather Service said. States most at risk of severe weather Wednesday include Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee and Alabama, according to the Storm Prediction Center. The additional precipitation is not welcome news for various areas as Monday's rain was still causing problems across the region. Schools opened late or closed in parts of Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana because of flash flooding.

It's 'War' as 'Survivor' champs square off in new season

CBS' iconic reality competition "Survivor" marks its 20th anniversary Wednesday with the premiere of its first all-champions edition, "Winners at War" (8 p.m. EST/PST). Twenty winners from seasons past will compete for $2 million, double the usual "Survivor" payoff. For the first time, the competition will include the element of money in the form of fire tokens. Contestants include "Boston Rob" Mariano and wife Amber (Brkich) Mariano, who fell in love on the set of the 2004 "All-Stars" season. Last fall's edition drew outrage after a contestant accused of inappropriate touching was belatedly ousted from the show. CBS says it has new procedures in place to prevent similar incidents.

St. Louis Blues' Jay Bouwmeester alert following 'cardiac episode'

The St. Louis Blues will provide an update on Jay Bouwmeester's condition Wednesday after the 17-year NHL veteran collapsed on the bench during a game against the Anaheim Ducks. The game — which was delayed as Bouwmeester was treated and concerned players on both sides gathered at center ice — eventually was called off after both teams went to their dressing rooms. "He was alert and moving all of his extremities as he was transported to UC Irvine Medical Center," said Blues general manager Doug Armstrong in a statement. "Currently, Jay is conscious and alert as he undergoes further testing by Anaheim's physicians."

Bonus: An upset at Westminster

New Hampshire wasn't the only big competition last night. At the 144th Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show, Siba the Standard Poodle was named Best in Show. Asked how the poodle would like to celebrate the win, Chrystal Clas, the dog's handler said the demands would be simple: Siba would like some chicken.
