Welcome to Thursday, which means we're inching ever closer to the weekend. Of course, that can mean very different things in the era of COVID-19, when you're either locked down, free to go where you wish, or somewhere in between. |
Either way, the Daily Money team is here to keep you informed about all things retail, financial and tech. So let's dive in. |
First, there's more grim news on the jobs front, with a staggering 33 million Americans filing for unemployment over the last seven weeks as they lose their jobs during the pandemic. |
If that weren't enough, many are angry they received smaller-than-expected stimulus checks after they were garnished for their spouse's overdue child support payments. The IRS is now working to fix that. |
And with everyone trying to sanitize surfaces, supplies of wipes are lagging. Clorox says retail shelves won't be fully stocked with disinfectant wipes and other cleaners used to combat COVID-19 until this summer. |
