Kamala Harris has picked a winner in her veepstakes. The U.S. women's soccer team is one win away from Olympic gold. And Debby is still bringing downpours to the Southeast. |
👋Hey, Tuesday! Laura Davis here. It's time for the news! |
The pick is in. Kamala Harris picked Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz as her running mate on Tuesday, thrusting the outspoken Midwestern statesman into the national spotlight while adding a key ally to her fast-moving campaign for the presidency. |
What he's bringing to the table: Walz, 60, brings political acuity, suburban-and-rural appeal and progressive patriotism to a competition where all three criteria are seen as helpful for Democrats to clinch a 2024 win against the Republican ticket of former President Donald Trump and Sen. JD Vance. 👉 Here's everything we know. | Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, seen here, will be Vice President Kamala Harris' running mate for the 2024 election. Stephen Maturen, Getty Images |
