I'm Mallorie Sullivan, and I have a newfound appreciation for Robert Pattinson after seeing "Primetime" this weekend. Here are 5 things to know this week.
|
1. Trump's media ban fight isn't over |
After a judge last week halted Trump’s ban on CNN, MS NOW and Politico and temporarily restored their White House access for 14 days, the legal fight enters a critical new phase this week. The outlets must file by today to extend that order, with the Trump administration's response due Friday, setting the stage for the battle to continue into next week.
|
2. Lindsay Clancy heads back to court |
3. Changes to SNAP benefits coming |
Starting Thursday, roughly 37 million SNAP recipients will see a modest cost-of-living increase in their monthly benefits, but bigger changes could be on the horizon. New rules tied to Trump's signature tax and spending law passed last year could tighten eligibility and shift more costs to states, which could force budget cuts and reduce program participation.
|
4. The MLB playoffs swing into action |
5. Everyone's going to be talking about ... |
📚 This book: "Threshing Day," the latest from "Fourth Wing" author Rebecca Yarros, is out Tuesday.
|
📺 This Netflix show: "East of Eden," starring Florence Pugh, begins streaming Thursday.
