Epstein is dead. And they're still angry
Ten suspicious deaths and a storm aimed at the US. Plus: your doggos.

A tropical storm looks poised to hit Florida, Brazil looks sassy on the world stage and I look at photo after photo of all your adorable canines (and share them below).

It's Ashley. And doggone it, here's Tuesday's news.

But first, Popeyes or Chick-fil-A? The winner of the internet's Chicken Sandwich War of 2019 is ... (not Shake Shack, but it should have been).

Epstein was 'a coward,' one accuser says. She's 'angry' he killed himself

Just over two weeks after Jeffrey Epstein killed himself in a federal jail cell, Courtney Wild and dozens of women expressed anger at the wealthy financier  in a Tuesday court hearing. Their recurring themes: Frustration, anger, defiance and tears. Wild, who said she was abused at Epstein's Florida home when she was 14, explained she was "very angry and sad" that he killed himself before any trial. "He is a coward," she said. Epstein, 66, died earlier this month, and the hearing was to formally dismiss the charges. Jennifer Araoz, who accused Epstein of raping her when she was 15 in his New York mansion, said: "They let this man kill himself and kill the chance for justice for so many others."

Suspicious deaths – 10 of them – at a veterans hospital

Authorities are looking into a string of about 10 suspicious patient deaths at a Veterans Affairs hospital in West Virginia, where the patients may have been targeted, according to three people familiar with the probe. The death of an 82-year-old Army veteran last year was ruled a homicide due to an unprescribed injection of insulin, and authorities are investigating a "person of interest" in the case. There was no order for the injection in the patient's records, and he had no history of diabetes or insulin use, according to the autopsy report.

Tropical Storm Dorian is aimed at Florida

Tropical Storm Dorian lurched directly over St. Lucia Tuesday dropping rain and gusting winds as it heads through the eastern Caribbean Sea and toward Puerto Rico. The storm is expected to strengthen over the next 48 hours,  and the threat of winds and heavy rains reaching Florida later this weekend is increasing, the National Hurricane Center said. Florida residents "should monitor the progress of Dorian and ensure that they have their hurricane plan in place," the weather service said Tuesday.

Brazil to world leaders: Keep your $20 million in free money

The Brazilian government is rejecting $20 million in aid pledged by G-7 leaders to fight fires in the Amazon rainforest,  according to several reports. French President Emmanuel Macron announced Monday that the G-7 leaders, which include President Donald Trump, agreed to set up the fire aid. Luís Fernando Serra, Brazil's ambassador to France, said Tuesday morning that his country is rejecting the aid because it was not involved in the discussions, Politico Europe reported. Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro said later Tuesday that he would accept the aid , but only if Macron retracts comments he made calling him a liar, the Associated Press reported. "Then we can speak," Bolsonaro said.
