Sen. Bernie Sanders wins Nevada, forcing Dems to consider potential impact of his nomination

Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders' win in the Nevada caucuses is forcing the Democratic Party to reckon with the strong possibility that a democratic socialist will be the nominee . His big win, after he captured the popular vote in Iowa and New Hampshire, increases fears among some Democrats that a Sanders nomination could cost them both the White House and Congress. The results could further split the sharply divided party about the best way to move forward.

Former Vice President Joe Biden heads to a crucial test in the South Carolina primary, after earning his first top-2 spot in the Democratic primary, where political experts say a win could breathe new life into his sputtering presidential campaign – or another loss could end it.
Pete Buttigieg criticizes Sanders, saying the only way Democrats can deliver on the progressive changes the party wants is with a nominee "who actually gives a damn about the effect you are having" on races from the top of the ticket to the competitive House and Senate races Democrats need to win.

B. Smith, one of the country's first high-profile black models who went on to become an author, restaurateur and lifestyle maven, has died after a seven-year battle with Alzheimer's disease . She was 70. "It is with great sadness that my daughter Dana and I announce the passing of my wife, Barbara Elaine Smith," Dan Gasby, Smith's husband and caretaker, said in a statement. Smith began her career as a model with the Wilhemina agency before going on to host the syndicated television show "B. Smith With Style," a half-hour show about home decorating and cooking. Lizzo, 'Just Mercy' win big honors at NAACP Image Awards

Lizzo was named entertainer of the year and "Just Mercy" won best motion picture, actor and supporting actor Saturday at the NAACP Image Awards . The awards show recognizes entertainers of color and ladled honors on "Just Mercy," a film that was snubbed throughout awards season. Host Anthony Anderson of "Black-ish" opened the show with a monologue that took a shot at the lack of diversity at the Oscars and Hollywood's other ceremonies.  "Unlike other awards shows, we actually have black nominees," Anderson said.

India-bound Donald Trump pokes at Bernie Sanders and Democrats — over Russia

President Donald Trump left for India on Sunday by seeking to drive a wedge between the Democratic Party and primary front-runner Bernie Sanders over new allegations regarding Russia. Claiming – without evidence – that Democrats are leaking information that Russia wants to interfere in Democratic primaries to benefit Sanders, Trump told reporters that the Democrats "don't want Bernie Sanders to represent them."

In a wide-ranging Q-and-A with reporters Sunday at the White House, Trump also:

Said he was looking forward to his whirlwind trip to India.
Pledged to sign a new peace agreement with the Taliban and Afghanistan if the two sides can work out a deal.
Said the following of the Afghanistan war: "Nineteen years, that's a long time."
Again said he is considering a pardon for former political adviser Roger Stone, who faces 40 months in prison for a perjury conviction.

Tyson Fury dominates Deontay Wilder in high-stakes rematch

Nearly 15 months after their first meeting ended in controversy, there was no debating who the winner was in the rematch. Tyson Fury prevailed over Deontay Wilder by seventh-round TKO in one of the most anticipated rematches in recent boxing history Saturday night at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Fury – the "Gypsy King" – became WBC heavyweight champion once again, dominating Wilder before Wilder's corner threw in the towel in the seventh round, giving him his first ever loss in 44 fights. "He will be back. He will be champion again," Fury said in a post-fight interview. "But I will say, the 'King' has returned has returned to the top of the throne."

Opinion: Tyson Fury the latest Brit to make a mockery of American boxing after TKO of Deontay Wilder.
