Negotiations in full swing on next coronavirus stimulus bill ๐Ÿ’ฐ

Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin will meet with Republicans and top Democrats on Tuesday in hopes of quickly passing another coronavirus stimulus bill . Mnuchin is planning to brief Senate Republicans on the president's priorities in the next bill, including another stimulus check for Americans and a payroll tax cut — a measure long sought by President Donald Trump. Mnuchin also will meet with Democratic leaders to discuss their priorities in the bill, including the need to extend the $600 weekly boost to unemployment benefits that are readying to expire at the end of the month.

Teachers sue Florida governor over school reopening plans

President Donald Trump says he plans to resume his daily coronavirus briefings possibly as soon as Tuesday as cases spike across the country.

The news comes as some states, including Florida and California, continue to see booming numbers of new cases. In California, Los Angeles County reported another record number of COVID-19 hospitalizations. As Florida reached its sixth straight day of 10,000-plus new coronavirus cases Monday, the state's largest teachers union sued Gov. Ron DeSantis over plans to reopen schools with in-person instruction next month.

Alex Trebek, the beloved "Jeopardy!" host and game-show icon, is finally telling his life story in a memoir out Tuesday — a day before his 80th birthday. "I want people to know a little more about the person they have been cheering on for the past year," Trebek says in an excerpt from "The Answer Is...: Reflections on My Life." Trebek announced to the world in March 2019 that he had been diagnosed with Stage IV pancreatic cancer. Vanity Fair cover of Viola Davis is the magazine's first by a Black photographer ๐Ÿ“ธ

The new issue of Vanity Fair featuring a powerful image of Oscar-winning actor Viola Davis — on newsstands Tuesday — marks the first time the publication has featured the work of a Black photographer on its cover . The historic image of Davis was shot by photographer Dario Calmese. Radhika Jones, the magazine's editor-in-chief, writes in the issue that 17 Black people have been on the cover in the 35 years between 1983 and 2017, and that she was determined to fix the lack of representation when she took over the job. In her cover interview, Davis discusses the recent racial justice protests, her upcoming role as Michelle Obama, and the challenges of being a Black woman in Hollywood.

Publix to require masks in all of its stores ๐Ÿ˜ท

The nation's largest retailers are now requiring what some states and cities won't: the use of face masks. Publix will require all customers to wear masks in all of its stores beginning Tuesday, joining a growing list of businesses with face covering requirements as COVID-19 cases rise. The move comes after Dr. Robert Redfield, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, said that if the American public were to embrace masking now, the pandemic could be brought to heel in less than two months

NFL begins training for rookie teams ๐Ÿˆ

After an offseason marked by debate over the COVID-19 pandemic and how to handle the season, all NFL rookies are scheduled to be in training camp by Tuesday . Quarterbacks and injured players are scheduled to report two days later, while all other players are set to be in camp by July 28. Kansas City Chiefs and Houston Texans rookies reported Monday. The pandemic suspended offseason in-person activities, and the NFL Players Association still has plenty of questions and reservations about returning amid surging cases in hot spots, including Miami, Los Angeles and Arizona.

In better news: Mark Zuckerberg memes are here to brighten your day ๐Ÿ„‍♂️

Twitter users are having fun with a photo of Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg.

A picture of the billionaire chief executive surfing with his face slathered in sunscreen has the internet going wild with memes comparing him to pale-faced characters from TV shows and movies.

The photo shows the tech titan crouched down while surfing. It appears that Zuckerberg is looking directly at the person snapping the photo, which was taken in Hawaii, according to the New York Post.

Some said Zuckerberg resembles the Joker from the original 1960's "Batman" TV series. Others compared him to various animated characters and ghoulish objects.

"Mark Zuckerberg the surfing mime," tweets @Robertwilsonof1.
