The Daily Money: Car lessees cash in

In today's Daily Money newsletter, we have insights on car leases, fuel economy standards, Walmart, a McCormick recall and salary negotiation. ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌

Good morning, Nathan here to help you get your day started!

Yes, used car prices are out of control. But that's actually good news for some people – especially anyone with a vehicle lease that expires soon. Check out my story on how lessees are cashing in.

On to our ...

💡 INSIGHT OF THE DAY: Many small businesses are still struggling. More than 4 in 5 say their Paycheck Protection Program funds are poised to run out by the end of July, according to a new survey released by Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Voices and the Bipartisan Policy Center. And only about 1 in 4 are confident they can keep paying their workers without the extra money. Just a reminder that the economy might feel like it's getting back on its feet, but it could still be tripped up.

📰 And here are more stories you won't want to miss:

1. Work at Walmart, go to school for free: The retailer is now offering its workers free tuition to a select group of colleges.

2. Are masks on their way back to stores? Chains like Walmart, Target and Costco could reimplement mask requirements after the CDC's latest guidance.

3. Fuel economy requirements are back on the rise: The Biden administration is expected to reimpose tougher standards for gas mileage.

4. How do you negotiate your salary? Here are tips on how to get paid what you're worth.

5. Buy any seasonings lately? Better check this McCormick recall.

6. This docuseries covers the final days of the Beatles: Here's how to watch it.

Or you could just let it be.
