While the UPS strike deadline looms, most Amazon shoppers won't have to worry about significant delivery delays . The company said it processes most deliveries through its own network. Deliveries may take longer in some rural areas where they rely on UPS. Last year, UPS made up about 8% of Amazon's deliveries, whereas 60% of the deliveries were made through Amazon's own logistics network.

The UPS strike could lead the charge for unionization efforts at Amazon, but not without difficulty. More than 1,500 independent delivery service partners contract with Amazon, meaning they are technically not Amazon employees.

But the company touted 375 million items that it says were purchased worldwide by Prime members, who pay $14.99 per month or $139 per year for different perks including faster shipping. Hacked email almost cost Ohio woman thousands

A Richfield, Ohio woman nearly lost $35,000 from her retirement account after hackers got into her email and stole her personal information. Anita Gantner was locked out of her Amazon and Facebook accounts, and found it odd that her Windstream email account no longer received new emails. She called Windstream to ask about a hack, and to disable her account, but didn't receive much help. She took it a step further and asked her financial advisor to watch out for fraud on her accounts, and disabled online access and transfer to anyone, including herself. It worked. The scammers nearly transferred $35,000 from her IRA, but she was able to stop it in time.

Gantner's case is a reminder of staying on top of email security and not keeping weak passwords, because if you lose access to your account and need to reset the password, the reset link is sent to the address on file, making it easier for hackers to access your other accounts.
