Martial law? No martial law | South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol declared martial law Tuesday, accusing the country's main opposition party of being overly sympathetic to North Korea − before quickly backing down under pressure. Opposition leaders called the move unconstitutional, and the country's Parliament quickly passed a motion requiring the declaration to be lifted. Within hours, Yoon said he would reverse course. The White House National Security Council said it was "seriously concerned." 👉 See the latest. | Police stand guard in front of the main gate of the National Assembly in Seoul, South Korea, on Tuesday after President Yoon Suk Yeol declared emergency martial law.
