Hello! It's Rebecca Morin, senior national news reporter at USA TODAY. My heart is still with those affected by the California wildfires. Here's how to help devastated communities.

Jimmy Carter honored in Washington, D.C.

He was a man of dignity and character. That's how President Joe Biden described President Jimmy Carter as he delivered the eulogy at the 39th president's state funeral. Carter was remembered in the Washington National Cathedral by family, friends, top political allies, faith leaders and Americans who braved the snow and ice in the nation's capital to pay their respects. New York's top court refuses to halt Trump's hush money sentencing

Donald Trump will be sentenced – whether he likes it or not. New York's highest court on Thursday refused to halt Trump's Friday sentencing for his hush money criminal case. Trump tried to derail the sentencing on his 34 felony counts. Trump has also asked the U.S. Supreme Court to halt the sentencing, which still hasn't ruled on his request. Read more.

Why the Supreme Court is likely to side against 170 million TikTok users

It might be time to say goodbye to the funny dog videos, the OOTD inspo and easy dinner recipes (at least, that's what my FYP looks like.) The Supreme Court on Friday will debate the fate of TikTok – the wildly popular short-form video app that has over 170 million American users. The court will likely uphold a lower court's ruling that upholds a law Congress passed that calls on TikTok to divest from ByteDance, its Chinese-based parent company. Read more.
