The Tonkawas, once the dominant tribe in this part of Texas, have recently acquired Sugarloaf Mountain near Gause, Texas, which had been privately owned for some time. There will be maintenance and accessibility of the sacred site by the Camino Real de los Tejas National Trail Association.
