Hi there On Politics readers! Nicole Fallert here with Tuesday's stories to know from Washington.

Iran describes peace proposal

President Donald Trump said he delayed strikes on Iran that were set for Tuesday, following progress on a possible deal to end the war. However, Tehran's latest proposal appears to have few changes from an earlier deal that the president rejected as "garbage."

Trump said Monday evening he delayed a planned attack on Iran for "a little while, hopefully, maybe forever" at the request of U.S. allies and mediators in the Middle East, as negotiators work on an agreement to end the war.

Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-South Carolina, said Monday afternoon that any deal to end the war with Iran must be approved by Congress.

ICE agent charged with shooting immigrant

Prosecutors in Minnesota have issued a nationwide arrest warrant  for a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent accused of shooting a Venezuelan immigrant in Minneapolis during the federal government’s Operation Metro Surge earlier this year. Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty identified the ICE agent as Christian J. Castro, 52. Her office charged Castro with shooting Julio C. Sosa-Celis and injuring his leg as ICE agents were chasing another man in north Minneapolis on Jan. 14. Investigators said ICE agents surrounded the home after the shooting, deployed tear gas, and later entered the residence, taking four adults into custody.

Jack Schlossberg said online trolling helps his campaign

Schlossberg is the son of Caroline Kennedy and the grandson of John F. Kennedy and Jackie Kennedy. He's currently running for Congress to represent Manhattan's 12th district.

But last week The New York Times published a report including multiple claims by sources about dysfunction in his campaign, including that Schlossberg has high staff turnover, regularly skips strategy meetings and disappears for long periods, offering little by way of explanation. It said that during his campaign launch, Schlossberg had to leave to take a nap – a claim that the hopeful congressman joked about afterward. Schlossberg said he regrets none of his posts and he's using the attention – good, bad and ugly – as a tool to break through.
