Good morning! It’s Thursday, Nov. 5, and today: First Lady Melania Trump will host Russia and Ukraine reps at the White House. Three states plan to carry out a rare triple execution. And LIV Golf will appear in bankruptcy court.

I’m Mallorie Sullivan, and while I often fantasize about throwing my phone into the ocean, I know I couldn't survive without it on vacation . Let's get into it.

💵 So, about those prices ...

If you voted with the cost of living in mind, you're not alone: That frustration helped Democrats regain control of Congress . But economists say you shouldn't expect relief overnight. And making progress will require Democrats to work with President Donald Trump, who said he's willing to work together. So, will life actually get more affordable? The answer is complicated.

•	Trump is staying the course on Iran. Here's what that means for gas prices.
•	Data centers were also on the ballot across the nation. And they got crushed.

🩺 The doctors are in

More doctors will be heading to elected office in January. Abdul El-Sayed, Amy Acton and Annie Andrews are among the Democrats bringing medical experience with them as debates over public health and MAHA continue. With some Americans questioning who to trust on health, could their backgrounds help repair some of that lost trust? Here’s why it could be a start.

•	And it wasn’t just doctors. Voters sent all kinds of new voices to office.
•	Also: Meet the record five Black governors elected to lead their states.
