Trump warns 'mere' abuse allegation can shatter lives |
President Trump, in a pointed response to the uproar over charges of domestic violence by two top aides, cautioned Saturday that lives can be shattered by a "mere allegation" and asked, "Is there no such thing any longer as Due Process?" Democratic women in Congress quickly took Trump to task for defending those accused of abuse, but not mentioning the victims who have endured violence. Trump refuses to release Democratic memo |
President Trump on Friday refused to authorize the release of a Democratic rebuttal to a Republican intelligence committee memo alleging that FBI and Justice Department officials abused their power to spy on former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page. The president's refusal to release the Democrats' memo goes against the House intelligence committee's unanimous, bipartisan decision Monday to make it public. Democrats blasted Trump's decision , saying the move raises questions about what he's trying to hide and keeps the public in the dark. Experts warned the dueling partisan memos will result in federal agents keeping secrets to themselves because they no longer trust Congress. |
