The tornado's youngest victim: Age 6

Seven people in one family were declared victims of a monstrous tornado that hit over the weekend, one of 18 that struck Alabama, Florida, Georgia and South Carolina. So far 23 victims have been identified, with the youngest fatality believed to be 6-year-old Armando "A.J." Hernandez. President Donald Trump said he will travel to Alabama Friday to visit victims of the devastation. Meteorologists warn that another possible blast of severe weather poised to roar through the region soon could bring more tornadoes.

Keeping up with how rich Kylie Jenner is

While I can't keep track of a single tube of lip balm for more than a few hours, 21-year-old Kylie Jenner was just named the youngest self-made billionaire. Forbes announced Tuesday that Jenner officially surpassed Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg, who was 23 when he reached the billion-dollar mark. Jenner, the youngest of the Kardashian-Jenner clan, began Kylie Cosmetics in 2015. Forbes estimates the company is worth over $900 million alone. In comparison, Jenner's 38-year-old half-sister, Kim Kardashian West, was worth roughly $350 million last July, Forbes estimates. Many have been less-than congratulatory about Jenner's new title.

HIV cured? Possibly

A London patient is HIV-free in what appears to be an astounding case, doctors announced this week — the second person ever known to be cured of the virus. The patient, diagnosed in 2003, received a stem-cell transplant from a donor with a rare mutation that allows HIV resistance to treat his Hodgkin's lymphoma, doctors say. He also underwent chemotherapy. According to tests, the patient has been HIV-free, in remission, for 18 months. In a research letter in the peer-reviewed journal Nature, doctors who treated him say that this proves that the Berlin patient cured of HIV in 2007 wasn't an anomaly and that HIV remission is possible.

Guns for the mentally ill? Trump lifts ban

President Trump killed a regulation tightening gun background checks Tuesday, signing a bill to undo an Obama-era executive action. That rule required mentally disabled people's records to be submitted to an FBI database used to determine firearm purchases under the 1993 Brady Bill. But congressional Republicans said the rule could ensnare those with mental-health issues who are otherwise competent to own a gun. The Obama-era rule followed the San Bernardino shootings in 2015.

Alcohol, drug and suicide deaths hit all-time high

The national rate for deaths from alcohol, drugs and suicide rose from 43.9 to 46.6 deaths per 100,000 people in 2017, a 6 percent increase, according to an analysis. That's the highest level since record-keeping began in 1999. Deaths from suicides rose from 13.9 to 14.5 deaths per 100,000, a 4 percent increase. That was double the average annual pace over the previous decade.

Hillary Clinton settles it: 'I'm not running'

The 2016 Democratic nominee made it clear in a Monday interview. It's far from the first time Clinton has said she wasn't running for president again, but rumors have persisted. So, I repeat: She's not running.
