The unsuspecting slumlords of Indianapolis
From Jussie Smollett to 'Baby Shark,' here's Tuesday's top news

In today's news: The Jussie Smollett case takes a sharp (and wild) turn, and "Baby Shark" will soon plague a Major League Baseball game near you. Here's Tuesday's latest news, doo doo doo doo doo doo ... 🎵

But first, good news: The world's fastest-melting glacier is growing again. The bad news: It's only temporary

Jussie Smollett's record 'wiped clean'

Prosecutors dropped all charges against "Empire" star Jussie Smollett Tuesday, just weeks after he was indicted on 16 counts of disorderly conduct on suspicion of filing a false police report about being the victim of a hate-crime attack. Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson later told reporters they were outraged that the charges were dropped. They continued to accuse Smollett of lying about being attacked as a means to raise his profile and TV salary. Smollett also addressed reporters after the decision, saying, "I have been truthful and consistent on every single level since Day 1."

Investors: Ex-'Fox & Friends' host turned us into slumlords

Clayton Morris, the friendly former co-host of TV's "Fox & Friends," markets himself as an expert in helping others achieve financial freedom. But here's the thing: Investors accuse him of turning them into slumlords. Some investors in Indianapolis say his company, Morris Invest, sold them rental properties with a promise to rehab and rent them. That's not what they say happened. One buyer paid $52,500 only to learn months later that the house had been destroyed by fire before he bought it. Morris is now the target of at least five lawsuits filed by out-of-state investors who say he defrauded them.

Nothing to wear. Sigh.

What was intended to be a historic occasion for NASA and humankind, the first all-female spacewalk, has been canceled. Why? There weren't enough medium-sized spacesuits aboard the International Space Station. The spacewalk, scheduled for March 29, will now be done by a man and a woman: NASA astronauts Nick Hague and Christina Koch.

Yale dumps student linked to bribery scandal

Yale University rescinded the admission of a student whose family allegedly paid $1.2 million in bribes get her into the Ivy league school. It's the first time a school implicated in the nationwide college admissions bribery scandal has publicly booted a student linked to the case. The student is identified as "Applicant 1" in the Justice Department's indictment of former Yale women's head soccer coach Rudy Meredith, who is among the 50 defendants in the sweeping case. On Monday, the University of Southern California confirmed two students involved in the admissions case, "Fuller House" star Lori Loughlin's daughters Olivia Jade and Isabella Giannulli, remain enrolled at the school.

House Democrats hit a wall

The House on Tuesday failed to override President Donald Trump's veto of a resolution aiming to halt his emergency declaration for a southern border wall. The battle, however, continues in courts, where opponents are challenging Trump's authority to declare a national emergency in order to build a barrier at the border. Trump declared an emergency along the U.S.-Mexican border Feb. 15 to free up money after his request for $5.7 billion to build the barrier was rejected by Congress. Earlier Tuesday, a Pentagon decision to redirect up to $1 billion to build 57 miles of fencing along the border was slapped down by a House panel.
