🚗 The Daily Money: These 3 cars are history

In today's Daily Money newsletter, we have insights on cryptocurrency, ghost kitchens and passenger cars. ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌

Friday, August 13

Good morning, it's Nathan urging you to go the distance this weekend!

⚾ Yes, I thought the Field of Dreams baseball game in Iowa last night was pretty cool.

Now I feel like going outside to have a catch.

💰 The Daily Money is USA TODAY's Monday-through-Friday-morning roundup of all things personal finance, business and tech. If this email was forwarded to you or if you found it online, you can subscribe for free here!

On to our ...

💡 INSIGHT OF THE DAY: Awareness of cryptocurrencies like bitcoin is higher among people of color, with half of Black Americans, half of Asian Americans, and 49% of Hispanic Americans saying they are familiar with it, compared with 37% of white Americans. These groups also say they don't feel welcomed by traditional financial institutions and that crypto enables them to invest their money outside of those channels.

WHAT TO WATCH FOR: More ghost kitchens. They're kitchens established for the sole purpose of preparing food for delivery through apps. No dining room. No walk-up ordering. The latest chain to embrace the trend is Wendy's, which is opening 700 ghost kitchens in the U.S. and United Kingdom.

📰 And here are more stories you won't want to miss:

1. The Volkswagen Passat, Toyota Avalon and Mazda 6 are being discontinued. It's yet another round of cancelations for passenger cars.

2. The $1 trillion infrastructure proposal has $65 billion for broadband internet. Here's how that might affect you.

3. Twenty-seven people on board a Carnival Cruise Line ship tested positive for COVID-19. All but one were crew members.

That voyage is not to be confused with the Royal Caribbean cruise where six people tested positive last month – the one with our cruise reporter Morgan Hines on board.
