The Daily Money: It's unequal pay day

It's Equal Pay Day and pay is still anything but equal.

March 14 represents how much longer it takes for women to earn what men earned the previous year. In short, women have to work almost 15 months to make what men made in 12. That's quite a pay gap

What's more, women don't get the leadership positions or the top pay even in industries they dominate. And the higher they climb, the worse the wage disparities become, according to a watchdog report to Congress shared exclusively with USA TODAY.

Women account for the majority of workers in a third of major U.S. industries. Yet, they are underrepresented among managers and executives in all but one of those, according to a data analysis by the Government Accountability Office for the House Oversight Committee.

They also were paid less for doing the same work as men, a gap that is wider for women of color, for women with young children or for women who live with disabilities because of compounding layers of discrimination or bias.

Pi Day or Pie Day? You decide

March 14 marks Pi Day, the annual holiday in honor of the mathematical constant ฯ€ (pi), the ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter. But for pizza lovers, it's also pizza pie day.

Check out deals and discounts on circular food, including pizza and traditional dessert pies, to celebrate the holiday.
