The Democratic presidential ticket interview

CNN Anchor Dana Bash's interview with Vice President Kamala Harris and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz on Thursday delivered new details on the Democratic presidential ticket.

Harris shared the moment the election changed: Harris said she was sitting down to do a puzzle with her visiting grandnieces when she got the call from President Joe Biden saying he was dropping out of the race and endorsing her.

Bash pressed Harris on her positions that have changed: Harris defended her evolving stances on border security and climate policy during her first sit-down interview since becoming Democrats' 2024 presidential nominee.
Would she appoint a Republican to her Cabinet? The Democratic nominee was quick to respond with a "yes," before adding she didn't have anyone "in particular" in mind.
Walz addressed one of the most viral moments from last week's Democratic National Convention in Chicago: His son, Gus. "I'm so proud of him," Walz said.

18 states affected by listeria outbreak tied to Boar's Head deli meat

An ongoing listeria outbreak tied to Boar's Head deli meat has expanded across five additional states and resulted in a rash of new hospitalizations and deaths, the CDC said in an investigation update this week. Boar's Head has recalled 71 products since July 26, equating to about 7.2 million pounds of deli meats. Look for "EST. 12612" or "P-12612" inside the USDA mark of Boar's Head deli mean products.  Check if you have any of the recalled products (and do not eat them!).

Stuck astronauts have 'constant to-do list'

Astronauts Barry "Butch" Wilmore and Sunita "Suni" Williams are stuck up in space for another six months after launching on a trip that was supposed to last just over a week, Now, Wilmore and Williams have integrated as part of the team on the International Space Station, which means they're performing routine maintenance tasks and conducting science experiments daily. They're set to join the delayed SpaceX Crew-9 for its six-month rotation mission, which could start on Sept. 24. But that mission hasn't launched yet and could be delayed, too.
