Voters went to the polls for primaries in Michigan, Ohio and Indiana . In Michigan, a special election for an open Michigan state Senate seat went to Chedrick Greene, holding Democrats' narrow majority in a key battleground state. Former DOGE official Vivek Ramaswamy took the GOP nomination for Ohio governor, riding the support of President Donald Trump. And in Indiana, Trump-backed candidates prevailed over a half-dozen state senators who'd defied the president's demand to redraw congressional districts, reinforcing his grip on the GOP there.

Farewell to a onetime media giant
|
The "Mouth of the South" is silent. Ted Turner, an outspoken, iconoclastic businessman, media mogul and philanthropist whose visionary creation of a 24-hour news network changed the landscape of television, and news, forever, died at 87.

Turner sold his father's billboard business to buy an independent Atlanta TV station in 1970, then expanded it into a nationwide network of channels including TBS, TNT and CNN, the latter of which launched in 1980 with nonstop news coverage. An avid sailor, Turner was also the owner of the Atlanta Braves baseball team and the Atlanta Hawks of the NBA, and he was married for 10 years to actor and activist Jane Fonda.

'We knew something wasn’t right'

More than four years since tragically losing his only son, Dwayne Haskins Sr. is determined to help others who, like his NFL quarterback son, struggled with mental health. Haskins opened up about his son’s life: a Heisman Trophy finalist in 2018 who led the NCAA with 4,831 passing yards and 50 touchdowns in his lone season as a starter at Ohio State, but who also suffered from unchecked mental health issues as his career and life quickly spiraled off-course.
