Indiana, Ohio primary results signal November

Republican state senators who defied President Donald Trump's redistricting push saw losses  in the May 5 primary election to counterparts backed by the president. The results show Trump's ongoing control of his party as he aims to secure the results Republicans need in November to maintain hold of Washington.

Next door in Ohio,  Vivek Ramaswamy won the Republican nomination for governor, setting up a November race against Democrat Amy Acton, the state’s former COVID-19 czar, who ran unopposed. Ramaswamy, 40, defeated primary rival Casey Putsch in a race that was first called by NBC News and Decision Desk HQ not long after polls closed. And in Congressional Ohio races, Sherrod Brown won the primary to get his old job back.
