Bill stops here

Fox News has dropped Bill O'Reilly less than a month after the New York Times' blistering report of women's allegations against him — and more than 12 years since he was sued publicly for sexual harassment. Many who have experienced sexual harassment or assault celebrated his ouster as a sign that perhaps people  weren't so complacent after all. "This is what happens when women speak our truth: we can slay dragons," said an attorney for three of his accusers. Of course, 21st Century Fox not only loses arguably the most influential right-wing pundit  on TV but also fears of continued expensive legal settlements. (Claims came out even while O'Reilly vacationed in Italy). What's next for O'Reilly? He can always keep writing.

Aaron Hernandez's story ends, violently and alone

An American tragedy has come to an end. Former Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez, a convicted murderer, was found dead Wednesday morning, hanged in his prison cell in Massachusetts. Hernandez was  serving a life sentence for the 2013 murder of Odin Lloyd, and the ex-Patriot was back in the news last week when he was acquitted in the double murder of two men in 2012. Though it doesn't change the deaths of all four men, Hernandez likely won't be known as a convicted murderer for much longer. His death will almost certainly lead to the  expungement of his murder conviction because the case was still under appeal in Massachusetts. In a strange coincidence, the Patriots visited the White House on Wednesday, where President Trump snubbed Tom Brady, who skipped the visit, and Gronk crashed Sean Spicer's press briefing .

North Korean leader's birthday party takes chilling turn

North Korea honored a lost leader with a video backed by a soaring orchestra. It was an animation of a missile destroying an American city. The chilling propaganda was shown during a Sunday celebration for the country's longtime ruler Kim Il Sung. It's a sobering reminder of the country's missile tests just as the U.S. puffs its chest in defiance. Vice President Mike Pence said any use of weapons by North Korea will draw an " overwhelming and effective" reaction from the U.S. But if America picks a fight with North Korea, it could be a risky one. The U.S. already sent a serious message in the form of an approaching aircraft carrier, which instead of heading to North Korea last week , was actually thousands of miles away.

DREAM deferred

President Obama called students who were brought to the U.S. illegally as children DREAMers and protected them under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) law, as long as they have clean records. Obama deported an average of seven DACA enrollees per month. Trump has deported 43 so far. One such DREAMer was  Manuel Montes, 23, who'd been in the U.S. since age 9. He was waiting for a ride when an immigration agent started asking questions. Montes had left his wallet in a friend's car and couldn't produce his ID or proof of his protective status and was told by agents he couldn't retrieve them. Within three hours, he was back in Mexico. The U.S. judge handling his case will be none other than the one Trump accused of  "Mexican heritage" bias. "The Trump administration is making nearly every person who's undocumented a priority for removal,"  said Ali Noora, director of the National Immigration Forum. News of the ramp-up comes about a month after a DREAMer trolled the president by posting her taxes on social media, saying "How about you show me yours Donald J. Trump?"

If Serena is pregnant ...

Tennis goddess Serena Williams posted on Snapchat today a photo of herself with a bit of a bump and the caption: "20 weeks." Then she deleted it. That didn't stop the Internet from freaking out, because if she's 20 weeks along that means: A) She was pregnant when she won the Australian Open (ergo, she is the  boss of all things). B) She and Beyonce are pregnant at the same time! From Serena's cameo in "Sorry" to Bey's inspirational  handwritten notes, they totally  cheer each other on — will that extend to car seat recs and nighttime feedings, too?
