'One of the biggest tax cuts in American history'

The Trump administration unveiled its promised tax proposal Wednesday. And it's a whopper. One Trump adviser called it "one of the biggest tax cuts in American history." So here are the broad strokes:

Cuts the corporate tax rate from 35% to 15%.
Reduces the number of income brackets from seven to three (10%, 25% and 35%).
Doubles the standard deduction (currently $6,300 for individuals and $12,600 for married couples filing jointly).
Repeals the Alternative Minimum Tax, which forced wealthier individuals to pay higher tax bills.
Repeals the estate tax, which impacts estates with assets over $5.4 million.

The plan could face an uphill battle in Congress. Cost estimates of the proposal aren't out yet, but Democrats, and some Republicans, already see red (ink), saying it will increase the national debt by cutting taxes without reducing spending. Others say the plan adds up to a massive gift for billionaires and big business. The White House had hoped to replace Obamacare before going after tax changes, and that still might happen because members of the conservative  Freedom Caucus now say they are on board with a new health care plan.

Hits keep coming for Fox post-O'Reilly

Add racial discrimination to the recent bombshell allegations against Fox News Network. A dozen of the channel's  current and former black employees have sued the company and at least two executives over what they're calling years of discrimination. Former "Fox & Friends" co-host Kelly Wright is among the plaintiffs. His attorneys said he was "effectively sidelined" and "asked to perform the role of a 'Jim Crow.'" The filing comes a week after the company fired longtime host Bill O'Reilly over sexual harassment allegations.

Dog days for United Airlines

United Airlines kept its weeks-long streak of bad publicity going this week, with the untimely and mysterious death of a contender for the world's biggest rabbit. Three-foot Simon was groomed to succeed his 4-foot-4-inch father as the  alpha-hare, when he died during a London-to-Chicago flight. It turns out United accounts for more than a third of pet deaths on U.S. flights, which include dogs and cats. The unflattering headlines come after passenger David Dao  was pulled violently from a United plane, and the airline prevented  two girls from boarding a flight because they were sporting leggings.

A disturbing new sex trend is on the rise: Has it happened to you?

Can you trust the person you have sex with? People think they can, yet a disturbing new sex trend may have many second-guessing what goes on behind closed doors. The practice of "stealthing, " or a man secretly removing a condom during consensual sex, is on the rise, according to a new report. And if that wasn't bad enough, some men use online forums to brag about the practice and give advice on the right to "spread one's seed." Sound like sexual assault? The study's author thinks so and says there should be a new law against the practice so victims can better defend themselves.

New game: McDonald's employee or "Star Wars" officer?

The new monochromatic duds for McDonald's cashiers and fry droppers are less yellow-and-red Americana and more ashen dystopia. The fast food giant's new uniforms, which will debut at thousands of restaurants this month, drew clever reactions from Twitter, where users compared them to something out of "1984," "The Hunger Games" and "Star Wars."
