Trump dealt a blow, given a boost over who he wants out of the country

The Supreme Court's oral arguments Wednesday indicated the justices might uphold President Trump's travel ban on five predominantly Muslim countries. "It does not look at all like a Muslim ban ," Justice Samuel Alito said, noting the ban applies to about 8% of the world's Muslims. Outnumbered liberal justices suggested Trump's tweets could be used to decipher his motives. The Supreme Court already said it wouldn't immediately take on a lower court's ruling on DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) or DREAMers, but a third federal judge on Tuesday slammed the Trump administration's reasoning for ending the DACA program. Trump has also limited foreigners legally in the U.S. by ending Temporary Protected Status for Nicaraguans, Sudanese, Haitians and Salvadorans . The administration ended a similar program for Liberians. Hondurans may be next.

Golden State Killer, aka East Area Rapist, aka Original Night Stalker: Caught?

In the 1970s and '80s in California, a masked man is believed to have killed 12 people and raped 45, ranging in age from 13 to 41. On Wednesday former police officer Joseph James DeAngelo, 72, was arrested as a suspect. For victims, the break in the cold case brought a flood of emotions. "I'm overwhelmed with joy. I've been crying, sobbing. ... After 42 years — wow," said Jane Carson-Sandler, the fifth victim of the serial rapist.

It's not just the martinis that are dirty

Researchers from the New York University School of Medicine found people who like to drink alcohol have more bad bacteria in their mouths. In particular, if you're a heavy drinker, alcohol is more likely to disrupt the composition of bacteria in your mouth. Researchers also cautioned more studies should be done. Scientists are still trying to conclude whether alcohol shortens or prolongs our lives.

Alexa, teach my kids some manners ... please

Alexa, the digital assistant from Amazon, will get an update next month with parental controls, including a feature called "magic word" that will compliment kids who say "please" when making a request. A version of Amazon's Echo speaker, called Echo Dot Kids, is available for preorder Wednesday. Now, Alexa could just get kids to clean their rooms. Meanwhile, Google's email service Gmail will offer its own cleaning service of sorts, as  its biggest overhaul since 2011 includes a self-destruct feature.
