Churning hundreds of miles from the continental U.S., Hurricane Ernesto has kept the nation's Atlantic coastline treacherous for several days as its expansive rip currents threaten to drag beachgoers out to sea – a hazard experts say is not that unusual. |

Talk show legend Phil Donahue, whose pioneering "The Phil Donahue Show" revolutionized TV with studio audience participation on topical social issues, has died, according to reports. He was 88. His death was confirmed Monday by People and the "Today" show. Super blue moon coming soon |
Barring pesky clouds, skywatchers will have a spectacular view of a super blue moon when it rises in the evening sky tonight. |
Tricky timing: The moon reaches peak fullness at 2:26 p.m. EDT Monday, when it will be below the horizon in the United States. However, the moon will still look plenty full when it rises in the eastern sky Monday evening, and NASA says it will actually appear full for three days, through early Wednesday morning. |
Super and blue? The "super" part of its title refers to the moon's orbit, which brings it slightly closer to Earth this month, upping its size and brightness.
