President Donald Trump's trade war intensifies this week. Three U.S. soldiers have been found dead after going missing during training. And a country star made an eyebrow-raising exit from "SNL."

👋 Hello! Rebecca Morin here. Let's get the week started with Monday's news!

Get ready for Trump's tariffs

Trump wants other countries to pay up. On Wednesday, the president is expected to announce details for tariffs aimed at curtailing the flow of foreign goods into the U.S. New tariffs on automobile imports are also set to take effect this week – a move that will likely slow production and drive up prices amid concerns of a recession. Trump is facing backlash from key trading partners ahead of the implementation. Poland Prime Minister Donald Tusk on Monday urged Trump to reconsider the sweeping tariffs, saying "cooperation is always better than confrontation."

Who will get hit? The White House has declined to say how many countries would face the reciprocal tariffs. White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said Monday the tariffs would offset unfair treatment the U.S. has faced for decades. 👉 Catch up on today's updates.

A training mission gone wrong

After going missing nearly a week ago, three U.S. Army soldiers were found dead in Lithuania after their 63-ton armored vehicle sank into a peat bog during a training mission. Recovery efforts for a fourth soldier are underway and Major Gen. Christopher Norrie said, "the search isn't finished until everyone is home." The vehicle was finally pulled out of the bog on Monday after an extensive operation involving excavators, pumps and other construction equipment. The soldiers, whose names have not been released, were reported missing on Tuesday after they did not come back from conducting tactical training at the Pabrade training ground near the border with Belarus.  👉  Investigation underway for cause of the accident.

A day to be seen

Monday is Transgender Day of Visibility – a day that honors transgender, nonbinary and gender-expansive people. Transgender people, who often experience high levels of poverty, discrimination and violence, have seen an uptick in political attacks. Since taking office, Trump has issued several executive orders restricting the rights of transgender Americans, impacting their ability to serve in the military, participate in school sports and obtain government documentation. Despite barriers, trans people have made history across fields like acting, modeling and politics. 👉 What to know about the day.

Take a look at trans people who have broken barriers.

A diss or miscommunication? Country music singer Morgan Wallen has caused a big stir with his early exit from "Saturday Night Live." After hugging Saturday's host, Oscar-winner Mikey Madison, Wallen abruptly walked off stage in a break from tradition where the cast and musical guest stay on stage to say goodbye as the credits roll. Shortly after leaving the show, Wallen took to his Instagram stories to post a photo of a plane and wrote, "Get me to God's country." 🚶‍♂️ Why Wallen is facing backlash.
