Immigrant women detail what it's like in ICE detention | For hours, immigrant women were chained on a prison bus without access to food, water or a toilet. More than two dozen women were packed like sardines into a small holding cell. Those are just some of the conditions that four immigrant women described when discussing their time at Krome North Processing Center in Miami – a detention center reserved for men. While government investigators have repeatedly found serious problems in immigration detention centers around the country under both Republican and Democratic administrations, the women's allegations at Krome suggest detention conditions have deteriorated rapidly as President Donald Trump 's administration works to deliver on the president's promises for tougher immigration enforcement. Here's what ICE detention conditions are like. |
