Good morning! Today is Wednesday, June 10 and it's me, Tim G.! While we wait for MLB for figure out what the heck it's going to do this season, we wake up to find another college football player has tested positive for COVID-19. And USA TODAY Sports' Dan Wolken has chimed in on the situation at Iowa and wonders if Kirk Ferentz is equipped to lead the change the program needs. Scroll down for the best of today's headlines. |
But don't forget: We asked why you fell in love with sports. These are those stories: |
Today's contribution is from reader Paul Teeters of Houston: |
I have always had a connection or love of sports even at an early age. However it grew during my days as a student football manager at the University of Houston. While I was there I worked with coaches, players and former athletes. I traveled with the team, visiting stadiums like Neyland Stadium (Tennessee), Death Valley (LSU), Michie Stadium (Army) and many others. Plus, I was paired up with the running backs and my coach was Clay Helton, who is currently the head coach at USC. Those six years were some of the best I have ever had, regardless of the W/L record. Still have connections with some of those players as well as the coaches. A true sign of how sports can connect and maintain friendships. |
