The Daily Money: Have you been 'quiet quitting' your job?

Ever find yourself not quitting your job, but you will only do what your jobs requires and nothing more? Then you might be "quiet quitting." ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌

The Daily Money

Monday, August 15

Hate to break it to you, but it's Monday. It's Brett Molina here with your latest Daily Money headlines.

Let's begin by shouting out parents, who are either getting their kids ready for the first day of school, or are trying to survive what's left of summer entertaining their kids until they are back in the classroom.

No matter where you sit on the Back-to-School Express, it never hurts to find new tech to entertain your kids and provide a good headstart to the school year, which is why kids should check out some of these great educational games.

Do you practice 'quiet quitting'?

Ever find yourself in a place where you're not quitting your job, but you will only do what your job requires and nothing more? Then you might be among millions of Americans who are "quiet quitting."

"You're not outright quitting your job, but you're quitting the idea of going above and beyond," said TikTok creator Zaid Khan, who popularized the term in a video drawing millions of views.

Why are more Americans doing this? Burnout from taking on extra duties at work while also navigating the COVID-19 pandemic. A March survey from outplacement firm Challenger, Gray & Christmas found nearly four out of five companies said they're experiencing issues with employee disengagement.

🍔 Today's Menu 🍔

Trying something different on The Daily Money: a whole section focused on food news. You love food. I love food (maybe a little too much).

Since many of you are likely opening this in the morning hours, we kick off with a popular beverage: coffee. Would you mix yours with lemonade? Starbucks customers found themselves "horrified" upon learning you can order a Cold Brew Iced Coffee Lemonade. What would Arnold Palmer think????
