It's unclear how far the support of former President Donald Trump will take Republican Rep. Nancy Mace in her South Carolina district primary. A jury continues to deliberate in Hunter Biden's felony gun case and Apple Intelligence is coming for your iPhone.

🙋🏼‍♀️ I'm Nicole Fallert, Daily Briefing author.  This dog is a hero.

How far will Trump's support go for Nancy Mace?

Republican Rep. Nancy Mace faces a competitive primary challenge for South Carolina's 1st congressional district from former state cabinet official Catherine Templeton.

The race is shaping up to be a proxy fight between former President Donald Trump's MAGA wing of the Republican Party and establishment conservatives.

Mace is one of the nearly 20 Republicans who have been mentioned as possible Trump vice presidential picks. Although Mace has received criticism from members of the GOP for voting with seven other House Republicans in 2023 to oust then-Speaker Kevin McCarthy.
The results in South Carolina, as well as North Dakota's Tuesday primary, are almost certain to decide the general election winner in heavily Republican areas.
Races in Nevada and Maine on Tuesday could indicate which party controls the House and Senate next year and with it significant power over the agenda for the 2024 White House winner.

Jury begins deliberating in Hunter Biden trial

Hunter Biden's trial on federal gun charges is now in the hands of the jury of 12 Delaware residents who will decide whether the president's son illegally bought and owned a revolver while he was an unlawful drug user or addict. Biden, 54, faces a maximum of 25 years in prison if convicted of all three felony charges. The trial is historic because Biden is the first child of a sitting president to be tried for a crime. UN Security Council backs cease-fire proposal

The Biden administration's proposal for a cease-fire in Gaza received the United Nations' endorsement Monday when the Security Council voted 14-0 in favor of a resolution supporting the plan, with only Russia abstaining but not vetoing. Still, acceptance by the warring parties remains elusive. The three-stage proposal would bring about an immediate stop in the fighting between Israel and Hamas, along with the release of hostages in exchange for Palestinian prisoners. Read more

What do know about donanemab

A Food and Drug Administration advisory panel on Monday endorsed the experimental Alzheimer's drug donanemab, which studies showed slowed early stages of the fatal mind-robbing disease. The recommendation came despite pointed questions from advisory committee members about the potential side effects of Eli Lilly's drug, an antibody that removes beta-amyloid that accumulates in the brains of patients with Alzheimer's disease. The panel also said the benefits of the drug outweighed potential risks for people with early stages of the disease. Read more
