Do ICE agents need to wear masks? The debate rages.

Since U.S. President Donald Trump took office, immigration arrests have gone up across the country and doubling in 38 states, according to new data from UC Berkeley's Deportation Data Project. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has continued its stepped-up tactics of detaining people during routine check-ins or showing up to court for their immigration hearings.

Federal authorities say Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents need to hide their identities to protect their families.
