The happiest place on earth is back in business, but Florida is still a mess

Good news for Disney. The Walt Disney World Resort reopened the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios Tuesday. The bad news? Hurricane Irma brought catastrophic damage elsewhere in Florida. About 25% of houses on the Florida Keys were destroyed, and another two-thirds were damaged, according to FEMA. Evacuees from the Keys were understandably upset, with some regretting leaving their homes. Overall, Florida was lucky that Irma, which made landfall at Cudjoe Key on Sunday morning as a Category 4 storm with sustained winds of 130 mph. Irma could have easily been a Category 5 with a 15-foot storm surge and 150 mph winds. President Trump will travel to Florida on Thursday to survey the damage. The Sunshine State will still have a long, slow road to recovery. Speaking of hurricanes, looks like Hurricane Jose may avoid hitting the U.S. East Coast, forecasters said.

A steady hand will guide the Force to its conclusion

Stay calm, 'Star Wars' fans. Lucasfilm will turn to a familiar face after announcing that J.J. Abrams will direct 'Star Wars: Episode IX'. Abrams, who ushered the blockbuster franchise into the modern era with 2015's 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens,' steps into the director's chair following Colin Trevorrow's sudden departure, the latest high-profile exit following directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller's firing from the young Han Solo spinoff film earlier this year.

Guess who's baaack

Hillary Clinton released her new memoir Tuesday, and she's ready to tell everyone exactly 'What Happened' in the 2016 presidential election. One thing's for sure: She's not over it and doesn't pretend to be. Clinton opened up about her final campaign in an exclusive interview with USA TODAY's Susan Page. Clinton said she's convinced that associates of then-candidate Donald Trump helped Russia meddle in the election, and she didn't stop there. She also called out Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, former FBI director James Comey and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Smooch that adorable puppy face, but don't let the puppy smooch you back

Puppies are cute. Sometimes disgustingly cute. Some puppies for sale by the national chain, Petland, have passed along infections to people in seven states , said the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The puppies were linked to 39 cases of human Campylobacter infections, which causes bloody diarrhea, fever, stomach cramps, nausea and vomiting. It is spread through contact with dog poop, but not person to person. What should pals of pups do? Wash your hands often and contact a vet if a puppy appears sick or sluggish. And keep those sweet, dirty puppy tongues away from your face.
