This week on (North) America's Next Amazon Headquarters

It's hard not to view this as a reality TV show, but Amazon narrowed down the list for its next headquarters to 20 locations. Some are obvious choices (Washington, New York, Los Angeles) and a few surprises (Toronto, Montgomery County, Md.). Here's what we learned about the round of 20:

Amazon really wants out of the West Coast. Los Angeles is the only city on the list, with the next closest being Denver.
The D.C. area has a good shot, with the nation's capital and suburbs of Northern Virginia and Montgomery County all making the list.
A common theme emerges when exploring the negatives for winning: traffic. Good luck commuting with Amazon in your backyard.

But the reward — $5 billion in investment from Amazon and more than 50,000 jobs — might be worth it.

Latest proof that climate change is real

We're on a hot streak. For the fourth straight year , the Earth has set a record for global temperature. According to NASA, last year was the second-hottest on record, while the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration ranked it as third warmest. It's part of a larger trend developed over the last century during which the average surface temperature has risen about 2 degrees Fahrenheit. The warmer temperatures are a big reason we saw so much extreme weather last year, including devastating hurricanes and wildfires.

New twist in an old story

The Stormy Daniels saga has a new twist: InTouch magazine has published a 7-year-old interview with the porn star, in which she goes into salacious details about an alleged extramarital affair with Donald Trump. Let's start at the beginning: Last week, The Wall Street Journal reported that Trump paid Daniels $130,000 to keep quiet after an affair. Both denied it. But other media organizations, including Slate, Good Morning America and Today, are also reporting what they knew of this story. Now, in the InTouch interview from 2011, Daniels said trysts with Trump began in July 2006, a year after Trump married Melania, his third wife. More on the Washington front: This weekend marks the one-year anniversary of Trump's inauguration as president. Here are some of the consequential actions from the past 12 months. Also: What happened to the record $107 million raised for his inauguration? No one's saying

A key finding on concussions and CTE

Bad news for people who play contact sports. Repeated hits to the head, whether they eventually cause a concussion or not, can lead to can lead to chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), a study from Boston University found . Researchers found instant changes to the brain following head trauma, even if there were no symptoms of concussion. The only real way to decrease the risk of CTE: Reduce the number of hits to the head. As Ann McKee, director of Boston University's CTE Center, explains: "The continued focus on concussion and symptomatic recovery does not address the fundamental danger these activities pose to human health."

Dylan Farrow talks Woody Allen: 'He's lying and he's been lying for so long'

In her first television interview , the adopted daughter of actor and director Woody Allen spoke out about allegations she was sexually assaulted at the age of 7. Dylan Farrow described how Allen took her into an attic crawl space, asked her to play with her brother's toys, then molested her. "I loved my father," Farrow said. "I respected him. He was my hero. And that doesn't obviously take away from what he did. But it does make the betrayal and the hurt that much more intense." Allen denies the allegations.
