Welcome to Super Bowl week

It's not usually a good idea to insult a football hero's 5-year-old on the radio. But someone did. And Tom Brady is mad. Now, the Super Bowl buzz Monday is focused on that as much as next weekend's big game between the New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles. Here's what happened: Last week radio host Alex Reimer with Boston's WEEI-FM called Brady's daughter " an annoying little pissant." (Lookups for the word are up over 115,000%, Merriam-Webster said.) So when it came time for Monday's weekly chat with Brady on the Kirk & Callahan show, Brady shut it down after two minutes. That was just a few hours before Super Bowl Media Night in Minneapolis — usually known for silly (and stupid) questions. Reporters are sure to ask about the Brady incident and insult.

The State of the Union is coming, and so are the protests

The immigration debate isn't going away anytime soon — congressional Democrats are making sure of it. They hope to send a message to President Trump by inviting DREAMers (undocumented immigrants brought to the U.S. as children) to Tuesday's State of the Union address, In addition, many Democrats are bringing guests to highlight concerns about health care, gun violence prevention and sexual misconduct. A handful of Democrats are heeding a call to boycott the speech altogether. Other signs of dissent you are likely to see:

#TimesUp, #MeToo: Dozens of Democratic lawmakers will wear black in a symbolic stand against sexual harassment
Members of the Congressional Black Caucus will wear red pins for Recy Taylor, a black Alabama woman raped in 1944 by six white men who were never brought to justice
Members of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus will sport migrating butterfly stickers to show support for immigrants and refugees

FBI deputy director makes abrupt exit

FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, who has been a target of unrelenting criticism from President Trump, abruptly announced his resignation Monday , two government officials told USA TODAY. His retirement wasn't expected until March, when he would be eligible to leave with full benefits. Trump has accused McCabe of exerting undue and partisan influence over the probe into Hillary Clinton's emails and said McCabe was "racing the clock to retire with full benefits."

Porn dancing, or what you shouldn't do at a Cambodian temple

Pro tip: Keep it PG at sacred sites. Seriously. Cambodian authorities arrested 10 foreigners, reportedly fresh off a pub crawl, for "singing and dancing pornographically" near the country's famed Angkor Wat temple complex. Cambodia's authoritarian regime has become increasingly intolerant of lewd behavior at sacred tourist spots. So has neighboring Thailand: Two Americans were arrested in November for exposing their butts at a temple.

File when ready! Tax season is upon us

The government has your money and is ready to give some of it back. Filing season for the 2017 tax year opened Monday. The fastest way to a refund is to file those taxes as quickly as you can. Each year, roughly 80% of filers end up getting money back from the IRS, reports the Motley Fool. In fact, the average refund last year was $2,782 — not an amount to sneeze at. While getting a refund is something taxpayers tend to celebrate, the reality is that overpaying taxes during the year is a huge mistake.
