It's been an insane 24 hours for Team USA in Tokyo, so congratulations if you got some sleep last night! |
A jam-packed night-into-morning was supposed to be headlined by Simone Biles and the U.S. gymnastics team, but the superstar pulled out of the team final after just one rotation. Team USA competed clean routines on bars and beam, but after a fall from Jordan Chiles on floor exercise, there was no catching the Russians, and the U.S. finished with the silver medal. |
Biles only competed vault, on which she bailed out of a very difficult Amanar vault and had a big leap on the landing. |
USA Gymnastics said Biles withdrew due to a medical issue and will be evaluated daily to determine if she will compete in upcoming events. |

👀 What everyone's talking about: Naomi Osaka got upset, but aside from the Olympics, Oklahoma and Texas officially notified the Big 12 yesterday that they intend to leave the conference . While neither university indicated which conference they were heading to, a 16-team SEC is beginning to seem inevitable. Will the Big 12 survive without two of its most prominent teams? |
