President Yoon served 'American Pie' at state dinner | President Joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden welcomed South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol and first lady Kim Keon Hee to the White House for an official visit on Wednesday to mark the 70th anniversary of the alliance between the two countries. The South Korean leader and his spouse arrived to a formal ceremony and a 21-gun salute. There was time for some serious business, too. The two leaders held bilateral meetings with top officials from their delegations. About 200 guests were welcomed for the state dinner that had a decidedly Korean flair, including a bit of karaoke: Biden handed the mic to President Yoon, who brought the house down with one of his favorites: "American Pie." Talk show host Jerry Springer dies at 79 |
Jerry Springer, best known as the host of a chaotic and long-running syndicated talk show, has died of pancreatic cancer, his family confirmed. He was 79. A statement said Springer, who is from Cincinnati, where he began his talk show and once served as mayor, died peacefully Thursday after a brief illness at his home in suburban Chicago.
