Hello! Rebecca Morin here. I'm literally counting down the hours until the next new episode of "The Summer I Turned Pretty!"

Operation Midway Blitz underway

The Trump administration has its eyes on Chicago. And no, it's not with the National Guard, though President Donald Trump continues to tease that he will deploy troops there soon. The Department of Homeland Security said it is launching Operation Midway Blitz, a new initiative targeting undocumented immigrants who commit crimes across Chicago and Illinois. Homeland Security Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said in a statement the operation will go after "the worst of the worst," accusing Illinois Democratic Gov. JB Pritzker and other local politicians for releasing gang members, rapists, kidnappers and drug traffickers that put lives at risk. What to know about the operation.

Is ICE chilling Chicago? Local leaders claim immigrants are wrongfully being snatched off the street by federal agents looking to root out violent criminals. Some Chicagoans are also saying that local workers and business owners are being targeted instead of criminals. How the community is responding.

More on Trump's immigration crackdown: Trump's recent immigration target? Companies that hire illegal workers. It was clear following the sight of hundreds of South Korean workers being chained and detained at a Georgia battery factory last week. Administration officials are also taking a harder line against employers they say cheat American workers by hiring undocumented immigrants. How the Trump administration is targeting illegal workers.

About Trump's alleged letter to Epstein…

A House committee released a slew of documents about disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein, including a "birthday book" with messages purported to be from President Donald Trump. But he wasn't the only public official included: Former President Bill Clinton and Harvard law professor emeritus Alan Dershowitz, among others, were also featured in the book. Another page in the full book the House Oversight and Reform Committee released features a picture of Epstein with another man and a woman whose face is blacked out holding an oversized check for $22,500 signed "DJTRUMP." What to know about the Epstein documents.

Blasts in Doha

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Tuesday that his country "takes full responsibility" for an unprecedented airstrike on Hamas leaders in Qatar. Israel launched the attack on Hamas leadership in Doha, Qatar's capital on Tuesday after six Israelis were shot dead by Palestinian gunmen outside Jerusalem on Monday. The strike is an expansion of military actions that have ranged across the Middle East to include the Gulf Arab state where the Palestinian Islamist group has long had its political base. The Qatari Foreign Ministry said Israel's "criminal assault" was "a blatant violation of all international laws and norms." Qatar has played an important role in negotiations over the Gaza war.
