Autism and Tylenol

President Donald Trump announced Monday that Tylenol use during pregnancy could contribute to the development of autism in children. He also discussed a potential treatment for autism, the drug leucovorin. Autism rates have been steadily increasing, which scientists say could be attributed to increased access to diagnostic tools. An exact cause of autism has eluded the scientific community for decades.

Tylenol disputes Trump claim: Tylenol parent company Kenvue issued a statement saying independent scientific research shows that acetaminophen − the active ingreient in Tylenol − is "the safest pain reliever option for pregnant women."

Autism research: Decades of research has not yielded firm answers on what contributes to autism, but many scientists believe genetics play a role, possibly in combination with environmental influences. 👉 Follow the latest on Trump's announcement.

What happened? ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" was pulled off air indefinitely after Kimmel made controversial comments about the death of Charlie Kirk.

Disney's statement: The company, which owns ABC, said it "spent the last days having thoughtful conversations with Jimmy." Those talks led to the decision to bring the show back. 👉 What to know about Kimmel's return.

Fungal disease migrates from Southwest

A lethal fungus is spreading beyond the dusty deserts and valleys where it likely originated. Valley fever, the disease caused by the fungus Cocciodioides, was once concentrated in the American Southwest but is now threatening vast swaths of the country.

What are the symptoms? Rash, cough, shortness of breath, fever, headache and fatigue. 😷 How the disease spreads.
