Nicole Fallert here, bringing you the news to know on Tuesday, starting with a royal state visit and then we'll discuss a MAHA rebellion amid America's wellness hardliners. Then: why we're drinking al fresco already.

The king is a royal. But a state visit has political implications

King Charles III is set to address a joint session of Congress on Tuesday, something that hasn't been done since his mother's speech on Capitol Hill in 1991.

The king is not an elected political official. But the monarch's words to U.S. lawmakers could have political undertones at a time when the U.K and U.S. have seen their longheld relationship tested: Global oil prices are up amid the war in Iran; President Donald Trump's tariffs have hurt the UK economy; International partners don't trust if Trump will maintain ties with alliances like NATO.

As he marks America's 250th anniversary, expect the king to speak of the symbolic value of the U.K.-U.S. friendship now more then ever. Also today, he'll be at the White House for a closed-door meeting with Trump in the Oval Office and a dazzling state dinner.
