US-Iran ceasefire extended
|
President Donald Trump announced Tuesday afternoon that he would extend the ceasefire with Iran until the country had submitted a peace proposal and "discussions are concluded, one way or the other." The Iranian government is "seriously fractured," Trump said, adding that Pakistani officials, who've been facilitating talks, asked the U.S. to hold off on any further attacks. The announcement comes as the shaky ceasefire was set to expire and as the chances for talks between the two sides were growing increasingly dim.

'A singing family' tragically silenced

The nationwide redistricting battle launched by President Trump last year to change congressional maps ahead of this fall's midterms has come to Virginia. Voters in the commonwealth are heading to the polls Tuesday to decide on a referendum that would eliminate all but one GOP-leaning district, potentially changing Virginia's Congressional delegation from a 6-5 Democratic advantage to one that has as many as 10 Democrats.
