Tropical Storm Helene formed over the Caribbean on Tuesday as residents across Florida prepared for a strike from what is expected to be a massive and powerful hurricane. |
What to know: Forecasters said Helene will dump heavy rain across western Cuba as it passes on Tuesday night, putting it on a path toward the Gulf coast of Florida. General Assembly in New York, Biden reflected on his five decades of public service, during which he has seen brutal wars and devastating famines – but also reconciliation between bitter enemies and the birth of new alliances. Brett Favre reveals Parkinson's diagnosis |
Pro Football Hall of Famer Brett Favre revealed he has Parkinson's disease during a congressional hearing in Washington on Tuesday. Favre testified in front of the House Ways and Means Committee, which is investigating how states are spending money intended for needy citizens. |
Why is he testifying? Favre, 54, is one of more than 40 people who have been sued by the state of Mississippi, demanding repayment of more than $90 million in funds from the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families program. After facing years of criticism, Petco will stop selling rabbits. The pet retailer announced Tuesday that it is "recommitting to an adoption-only policy for rabbits" following calls to stop selling them.
