NYC Mayor Eric Adams charged with bribery, foreign funding

Breaking news from New York City: Mayor Eric Adams was indicted on five federal charges, including fraud and soliciting foreign campaign donations for corrupt acts going back a decade. Adams is the city's first mayor to be criminally charged while in office. Read more.

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre did not comment on the indictment but rejected a claim President Joe Biden targeted Adams over differences on immigration policy.

Giuliani disbarred in DC

Adams isn't the only New York mayor facing legal issues. Rudy Giuliani, former New York mayor who served as one of Donald Trump's lawyers in his efforts to overturn the 2020 election based on disproved allegations of fraud, was disbarred Thursday in the District of Columbia. Read more.

A statue of country music legend Johnny Cash was unveiled at the U.S. Capitol earlier this week. Cash's music filled my family's red Dodge Ram on our summer trips to San Antonio when I was a child. Personally, I'm looking forward to dropping by Statuary Hall to see the statue very soon.
