Serena Williams' daughter makes an adorable doubles partner

It's easy to know when I fell in love with sports. It was when I inherited an old family bike that gave me the mobility to ride to a local school. ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌

Friday, July 3

Good morning! Today is Friday, July 3. It's me, Tim G.! It was a huge evening for sports news as FedEx asked the Washington NFL team to change its nickname, the NFL will play the Black national anthem before Week 1 games this season and two figure skating commentators are in hot water after appearing in a vulgar spoof.  And if you haven't seen Serena Williams' new doubles partner ... well, just click here. Scroll down to see the day's biggest sports headlines, but first:

We asked why you fell in love with sports. These are those stories.

Today's memory is from USA TODAY Sports NBA reporter Mark Medina:

We had sat in front of the television for nearly 2½ hours. With my grandparents graciously accommodating my hopes to watch the entire NBA on NBC playoff tripleheader, my late grandfather finally found a moment that we could take a break from the tube. "This game is over," he said. It looked like it was. It was Game 1 of the 1995 Eastern Conference semifinals and the New York Knicks held a six-point lead over the Indiana Pacers with 18.7 seconds remaining.
