Gloom lifts for now: The economy added a record 4.8M jobs in June as states allowed more businesses shuttered by the coronavirus to reopen. But massive layoffs persist and economists worry the surge in new infections will slow hiring this month.

Where's the Amazon smile? An Amazon driver in Detroit quit his job on Twitter, leaving a package-filled van with keys in the ignition.  The former driver's tweets and video are in stark contrast to the feel-good worker-vignettes that Amazon has been airing as TV commercials.

Don't tell wine snobs: Because it's inexpensive, saves trips to the grocery market and uses less packaging, Americans are embracing boxed wine during COVID-19. Sales have soared.
